We’re all too smart to be tricked

Dear Editor,

Prime minister Henry Puna spoke at the Tereora College prizegiving on Friday and blessedly kept it somewhat short.

He could not however, restrain himself from making a strong point to assure the next generation that we Cook Islanders are much too smart to allow the Chinese to trick us out of our resources, our land and our culture.

If someone has to tell you how smart they are, and assure you they cannot be tricked, you just have to wonder, don’t you?

Who is that fella in the USA who seems to be in charge there? He too keeps proclaiming his intelligence and deal-making skills. Is Henry even smarter?

Curious
