More praise for Rarotonga hospital staff

Dear Editor,

Last week I underwent a small surgical procedure at Rarotonga hospital which involved going to theatre and having to be anesthetised.

Having had a number of major surgical operations in the past, Middlemore Hospital in Auckland included, all I can say is wow and a big meitaki ma'ata to all those at Rarotonga hospital from the top surgeon, Dr Deacon Teapa, the anaesthetist, supporting doctors, nurses, the x-ray team, laboratory technicians, pharmacists and even the bubbly receptionist.

And not just for their total professionalism, but also their positive attitude and caring manner.

Top marks also for what appeared to be state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities, including immaculately clean rooms at Rarotonga hospital ranging from the sparkling modern theatre, laboratory, x-ray and consultation rooms.

I was totally impressed and overwhelmed with the entire hospital environment.

This not only speaks volumes of a government ministry that is extremely well managed by dedicated staff, but one which has obviously been provided the necessary funding by government in order to deliver a wide range of critical health services that, in my humble opinion, are first class.

So my sincere congratulations and gratitude to the management and staff of the health ministry and do keep up the fantastic work.
