Kiwis will be able to listen in

Dear Editor, One technically informed source says that possibly the reason why New Zealand is prepared to give $15 million toward the marine internet cable is that it will enable them to monitor all internet traffic if they so choose, which they can’t do with a satellite system.

No problem, I’ve got nothing to hide, but I don’t think we should pay anything then for their privilege. I wonder why Bluesky hasn’t mentioned the recent launching of the new O3B satellites giving them almost 50 per cent more capability?

Is it because of the opportunities for monopoly?

Come on Mark, time to open up: present us with some facts, it may be easier!
