Amnesty beats sleeping pills

Friday February 09, 2018 Published in Letters to the Editor

I have received the benefit of the government’s tax amnesty and so have many of my family and extended family.

I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you to the government for allowing me to be free from the burden of tax penalty debt and to be able to sleep at night, knowing tomorrow is going to be a better day.

Of course people don’t want to come out and thank the government because then others will know they are in trouble.

My Demo friends, my CIP friends and my one OCI friend are very thankful that this government has thought about the people and freed us from our tax debts. Now I have the help I need from the nice people at the tax department to never get in this trouble again.

Aue taue…so many other ungrateful people. All they do is complain, complain and complain.

I know I have the money I can spend on my family to eat and to live because of this tax amnesty. To all of you out there, this government was not deciding just to introduce this amnesty for CIP people and not Demo people. They made it for everyone who needed the help.

So again I say meitaki ngao, meitaki ngao, meitaki ngao from the bottom of my heart for giving me and my children hope for tomorrow.
