More on the issue of Christmas celebrations

It is not easy to deal with some aspects of the faith which was once delivered unto us the saints by the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Even if Nick Carter, in reply to my Church Talk of Friday, December 22, could refer to how the shepherds and the wise men - together with hosts of angels from heaven, had a great celebration over the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the question still remains: Where did the tradition of the Christmas tree, gifts and decorations, Santa Claus and so forth ever come from, and how did it get to us?

All I can answer to that is that it came from the unsanctified and compromising mind of the so-called Church, or Christian believers.

All we read in the Bible is found in Mathew 2 which tells us that when the wise men reached the place where Christ was to be born, “…they fell down, and worshipped him: and when they opened their treasures, they presented unto him (not to each other or to Joseph or Mary but to Christ), gold, and frankincense, and myrrh” (verse 11).

And in Luke’s Gospel chapter 2, there were shepherds in the field watching over their flock by night, “And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them…and said unto them, for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And suddenly, there was with the angel multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Are we that naïve and blind to not be able to see and read that all presentations of gifts, glorification, magnification and celebration were to no other but to Christ the King? But ungodliness, secularism, commercialisation and false religions have relegated Christmas to a man-pleasing than God-pleasing event.

Did Nick watch an item on the latest TV1, Australian and US world news about how chief economists are raving and boasting while they compare figures showing record high spending over Christmas this year 2017 compared to 2015 and 2016?

What does that show? Just commercial gain while the poor low-earning, innocent people stress out to make ends meet in order to level up with the Joneses. While companies’ end of the year earnings and bonuses which should have gone to pay long overdue kaiou (outstanding loans), sadly went on unnecessary spending and partying, all because of the Christmas lies, deception and delusion.

Who has brought this deception to bear upon the minds of simple, innocent people?

It is the Church and some false preachers who do not have real and true Holy Ghost and therefore lack the spirit of discernment into what the devil is trying to do to rob all of mankind from true salvation in Jesus Christ.

The same goes for Easter, which is supposed to be a celebration of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The world and the mind of man has once again turned it into economic gain with their Easter buns and Easter eggs, - just like the trees and gifts at Christmas and all that goes with it, overshadowing the true saviour and resurrected Christ of the Bible.

Is it any wonder why Jeremiah warned the people of his days, “…follow not the ways of the heathens?” What of us with the Christmas tree in this day and age?

Did Christ meant for his birth to be celebrated as the season for drunkenness, unruliness and lawlessness and more road fatalities?

I am not compromising, but just standing up for the faith in the one Saviour Jesus of the Bible, that none should perish but all come to repentance!
