Gas engineer Avi Naicker pulled over his truck and, there and then on the side of the road, fixed the barbecue.

EDITORIAL: This week our son Joe was turning eight. We’d promised to cook him burgers on the barbecue we’d bought off Rarotonga Buy/Sell/Swap page – but surprise, surprise, when I tried to put it together that afternoon, the barbie’s gas inlet had a left-hand thread, and the gas hose had a right-hand thread.
