The  second cyclone of the 2014-2015 season was yesterday afternoon passing to the north of Papeete and was expected to reach Rurutu, 572kms southwest of Tahiti by last night. 

Road users are being warned to drive with care at numerous locations around Rarotonga where road repairs are being carried out.

Weekend rain hits water intakes hard

Water Works maintenance personnel have been hard at work since the weekend, repairing problems at water intakes around the island.

Heavy rain that kept most indoors also resulted in no reported vehicle crashes on Rarotonga between December 29 and 12 pm yesterday.
