Infrastructure Cook Islands (ICI) is proposing a ban on the importation of all polystyrene takeaway containers in a bid to deal with a rapidly-growing waste problem.

The fire which engulfed a substantial four-bedroom wooden constructed home in Avatiu valley must have been deliberately lit, the house owner claims.
