Voicemail on the move

Some mobile phone users should check any important voicemail messages today.

Telecom is moving voicemail for the prepaid mobile numbers beginning with the number ‘7’ to another storage unit on September 4, meaning any messages currently stored there will be wiped.

The company has asked these mobile customers to get any important details from existing voicemail messages before they are deleted.

Telecom Cook Islands manager of mobile and wireless networks Donald Munro said the company currently has two units for voicemail. These are being moved to a single unit, and the old unit will be kept on standby.

He said having two units caused some difficulties with the retrieval of voicemail, and these issues will be solved by moving voicemail to one unit.
