Cook Islands youth with an interest in web and mobile-based technology have an opportunity to take part in weeklong regional workshop dubbed ‘Tech Camp’ to be held in Fiji.
Fiji-based organisation Pasifika Nexus is coordinating the week-long event – the first of its kind in the region.
The tech camp will take place from November 20-21 and November 26-30 this year at the University of the South Pacific in Suva.
BrightPath experts will train youth from across the Pacific Islands to build software applications for mobile phones, called mobile apps.
Salanieta Tamanikaiwaimaro, head of Pasifika Nexus, is looking to encourage greater participation of females within the technology sector.
The program will include regional and international women speakers and provides a chance for young women to learn about and gain experience in the technology field.
