Parliamentarians took the opportunity of the mobile health clinic (health bus) at Parliament yesterday to have a medical checkup before the final sitting, which started at 10am.

Speaker Nikki Rattle applauded the MPs, including the ministers, for taking out time for a quick check up.

“It’s wonderful for our people to know that you, as leaders, are leading by example especially with the issue of NCDs and encouraging our people to go for a checkup,” Rattle said.

“As I know as a nurse that sometimes you don’t know that you have high blood pressure, diabetes until you have a stroke or a heart attack and that’s the first time you will find out. This is one way to be proactive.”

Rattle thanked the medical team and the secretary of health Dr Aumea Herman for facilitating the medical checkup.
