Cook Islands Party
Our party sees the biggest challenge being to engage in more prevention work and to work in partnership with the community and private sector and those who are keen to reduce crime and keep our islands safe.
As our government has done with the teachers and those in the medical profession, especially nurses, we will embark on a platform of right-sizing and upskilling exercises to uniformly improve police remuneration alongside security and law enforcement outputs.
Low police pay and increase in violent crimes is a reckless comment. Police pay will be addressed, and it is very important to recognise the sterling work our current force assumes.
