Prime minister Henry Puna was the first to travel overseas this year when he attended the eighth International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Assembly which started in Abu Dhabi on January 12.
The UN agency has invited the Cook Islands to its annual meetings every year for the past four years.
Costs for the Cook Islands to participate in all of the agency’s meetings so far have been met by IRENA.
Puna, who was accompanied by Office of the Prime Minister chief of staff Bredina Drollet to this meeting, returned last week.
The ministers will meet tomorrow for the weekly Cabinet meeting to discuss key issues concerning the country.
