Prime minister Henry Puna and his Cabinet ministers will remain in the country this week.

Puna has flown to his home island Manihiki where he spent the Christmas break.

The remaining ministers have jetted to their respective islands to spend this festive season with their friends and families.

Puna last visited New Zealand where he led a local delegation to meet New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern and deputy prime minister Winston Peters.

The delegation also included Finance minister Mark Brown, Office of the Prime Minister chief of staff Bredina Drollet and Foreign Affairs secretary Tepaeru Herman.
