Australian label Zimmermann, known for its high-fashion swimwear and resort wear, is about to release its Summer Swim Campaign 2014.
“Zimmermann’s latest swim campaign was shot on location in the Cook Islands, specifically the azure waters and ivory sands of Aitutaki,” says Vogue magazine.
The Cook Islands was thrust into the spotlight when Air New Zealand released its new safety video last month, featuring a group of bikini-clad models frolicking around in Aitutaki.
This latest photo shoot will no doubt create an even greater buzz and hopefully generate a surge in holiday bookings.
Misepa Isamaeala, Aitutaki Coordinator for Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, said the Zimmermann team spent about five nights on the island in November last year, soon after Air New Zealand and Sports Illustrated completed their shoot.
“They flew in with their own chartered plane, with their own crew and one model.”
The shoot with Slovakian model Michaela Kocianova took place on One Foot Island.
Zimmerman is owned by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, who stayed at Pacific Resort while in Aitutaki.
Others in the party included photographer Darren McDonald and stylist Jillian Davison.
The label has 15 stores across Australia and is stocked internationally, with a range of top awards to its name.
Vogue describes Zimmermann’s new swimwear line as “modern and clean with athletic touches”.
Another swimsuit shoot on Aitutaki

Aitutaki’s stunning lagoon has provided the backdrop for another glamorous swimsuit shoot which is sure to draw more attention to the Cook Islands.
