Smiles and smears of icecream were plastered across children’s faces as they quietly licked their cold treats yesterday; adults praised the taste and fruitiness.
Be Fruitful owners Louisa (nee Lazaro) and Mark Castledine have worked quietly behind the scenes and first revealed their business on Saturday at the Social Centre.
It represented new beginnings in paradise, a life by the beach with their little ones, and the investment they were making in their own fruit, land and people, Louisa said.
She was raised on Manihiki, moved to New Zealand for further education, and returned to Cook Islands with her family last year.
Having worked in the corporate world overseas, the couple wanted a lifestyle change for their family: “We wanted to do something that would give us more time with our young children growing up,” she said.
Be Fruitful is located at the Social Centre from 2pm to 5pm.
