The fuel tanker Media arrived in the country on Saturday night, on its maiden voyage to Rarotonga.

Workers will unload 2420 metric tonnes of diesel and other fuel, and distribute it to all Rarotonga’s fuel depots.

Health inspectors cleared the crew yesterday prior to their disembarking the ship in the afternoon.

Harbour master John Jessie said all crew onboard were cleared by Fiji Health Authorities, and received Te Marae Ora approval to disembark in Rarotonga.

The ship is expected to depart tomorrow, and will head for Touliki in Tonga.
