Two healthy babies entered the world at the Rarotonga hospital maternity ward on New Year’s Day.

Purua was transferred to Rarotonga from her home island three weeks ago.

She said she was happy her son is the first baby to be born on the island in 2020, and was looking forward to returning home.

It’s her fourth child and third daughter, and Mailau said she and her husband are yet to decide on a name for her.
