The Nikao Fishers and Growers Association are pleased to have received outdoor gardening equipment for their community cleaning project.

Minister Vaine (Mac) Mokoroa handed over eight grasscutters, eight road safety signs, 24 safety vests, and road safety cones to the value of $22,000.

Chairman of Tapere Rangiura John Teaurima was pleased to receive the donation of the machinery, saying the equipment is needed. Mokoroa wholeheartedly agreed, noting that Nikao is where the international airport, national college of Tereora and Parliament House were all located.

The organisation was awarded the three-year contract for the Rarotonga Beautification Services contract (roadside cutting) for the Nikao/Panama; work is subcontracted out to the four Tapere.
