The Are Pa Metua were delighted to receive a package dry goods from the Tupa family reunion.

The women were quietly making their gardenia ei katu’s when the parcel of rice, weetbix, tea, flour, jam, noodles, peanut butter, coffee and cereal was delivered to their headquarters at Nikao, by president Nga Teao-Papatua yesterday.

Cheers of thanks and appreciation were shared among the women who welcomed the donation, “this is nice and will help with our morning teas and our lunches.”

Ngatuakana Marsters, coordinator of the Are Pa Metua, said they are thankful for and would like express their gratitude to the Tupa family for thinking of the elderly.

Ngametua Paroro Aukino has recently joined the sessions at the Are PA Metua and loves chatting with everyone and enjoying the shared meals.

“This is good, it’s nice to see everyone, and the gifts we have just received is wonderful.”

Mature citizens are welcome to be part of the centre to share stories over a tea or coffee, join in the light activities and mix and mingle. The centre opens on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 1pm,
