Talbot is walking 3200 kilometres hoping to raise $300,000 for the Creative Centre in Rarotonga.
So far on the Give a Little, Creative Trail Feb 2019 page, Talbot has managed to raise $8870.
Talbot last updated his journal when he was at Arthur’s Pass and acknowledged who have been following him on his social page.
In his last entry he said: “Beyond this hut are bridges or the track runs beside the next river. Since this will be the last full journal everyone will read for a while, I just wanted to thank you all again for the support and words of encouragement.
“When I get coverage and play catch up on Facebook, it really motivates me when I read the comments left on the journal posts (that my lovely wife is looking after for me).”
Talbot said at every billet stop which have been free of charge, every pick up along the way brought him out of the hiking mind set/zone.
He said: “Brought me back to reality/sanity, along with yummy food, hot showers and flush toilets and a comfy bed.
“Meeting you all has been a blessing and given me much needed rest and energy.
“So before I disappear into the back country for 10 days or so ... Meitaki Korereka to you all, may God bless you all.”
Talbot ended his journal mentioning his wife and how difficult the next 10 days would be.
However, he added: “You know that I look after myself and I’m not taking any risks while I am hiking ... I will still have my In-reach satellite gadget so we can still stay in touch ... just remember how strong we are together ... even when we are apart”.
