Second machine at car park is just the ticket

Commissioning of a second ticketing machine at the entry of the car park at Rarotonga International Airport has successfully eased problems previously encountered with traffic congestion in the area, says Airport Authority chief executive Joe Ngamata.

It’s among a number of improvements at the aiport – last week authority staff were busy installing solar lighting in the new car park across from the Islander Hotel, finishing the job on Friday.

“The solar lights were in operation at the weekend and lit our new car park up, so we’re already looking at acquiring some more of these solar lights to light up other areas around the entry into the airport and other areas that are not well lit,” Ngamata said.

“Our fire station is currently getting new roller doors, and apart from that it’s business as usual”.
