This new enhancement comes with many benefits and provides world-class security features to counter fraud and to protect customers and the bank against security breaches and counterfeit card activity.
“While overall the transition was successful, as with all major upgrades this one did come with its challenges,” said David Street, country manager for BSP Cook Islands.
“We experienced delays in integrating Visa International acquiring and establishing links for overseas Visa Debit Card transactions and online purchases.
“While regrettable, our local team worked tirelessly with their support networks to establish services, monitor transactions and keep customers informed. We are now comfortable all core services are stable and we apologise for any inconvenience experienced.”
Now that the new system has been established, the bank will be introducing many new products and service enhancements.
Local EMV chip cards will be introduced across the Visa product suite, ‘Touch and Go’ will be enabled at all BSP eftpos terminals and world-class internet payment gateway solutions will be introduced to assist businesses in managing their cash flow and online transactions safely and securely.
“We have been planning this upgrade for many months and we are excited it’s now implemented and our customers will enjoy the benefits as they are integrated over the coming weeks,” said Street.
“The new system also assists our local team to support business customers with eftpos facilities with better in-country transaction monitoring and platform visibility and enhanced features, including auto settlements.
