Freight costs set to rise

Wednesday July 18, 2018 Written by Published in Local

The price of diesel, petrol and LPG has risen throughout the country – bringing with it the possibility of an accompanying increase in freight costs, the price tribunal says.

The latest price order, released on Monday, sets the maximum allowable retail prices for petrol, diesel and LPG on Rarotonga and all of the outer islands. The only exception to the latest round of increases is on Aitutaki, where LPG prices remain the same as previous period due to fuel importers selling directly to consumers.

The new prices took effect on Monday. They were advertised in Tuesday’s CINews.
