There was a good turnout for Cook Islands Tourism’s Global Breakfast Update yesterday.

Held at the Edgewater Resort and Spa conference room, the update was attended by members of the Cook Islands tourism industry and other supporting partners.

Guest speakers at the second Global Breakfast Update were Cook Islands Tourism’s New Zealand and Australia general manager Graeme West, the Research and Development Director at the New Zealand Tourism Research Institute Professor Simon Milne, and representatives from the Expedia Group.

West provided an update on market performance along with future ideas to activate the market while Professor Milne discussed the planning elements of a community survey looking at community attitudes towards tourism in the Cook Islands.

Expedia’s Pacific islands area manager Samantha Stock and associate market manager for the Cook Islands, Bruna Fernandes discussed the newly branded Expedia Group and its global perspective. They also looked at the Cook Islands business on a year to year perspective.

Expedia Group which is one of the world’s foremost travel platforms will also hold a workshop for both new and existing partners at the Edgewater Resort today from 9am to 11.30am.

During their workshop, Expedia will explain all of the tools available for partners to optimise their listings with the company and ultimately generate more revenue.

Attendees will be taught how to join Expedia and what the benefits are to them. There will be time during this session to sit down with the team and sign up to join the world’s travel platform.
