Monday’s lecture by Dr Frame, who has worked for a number of Pacific island country governments including the Cook Islands, was one of 16 lectures planned this year by the law society for its members.
Lectures will touch on topics relevant to practicing law in the Cook Islands including court procedure, electoral law, land law, family law, AML and compliance, and several others.
The lectures, held at USP campus in Takamoa, assume the audience has formal legal education and aspects of the curriculum can be very technical in nature.
CILS vice-president Reuben Tylor said the lecture series was a collaboration between the CILS Council, which oversees the law society, and the experienced members of the legal community who were volunteering their time and expertise to provide this educational opportunity. - Release
