The annual Santa Parade organisers are anticipating a spectacular event in the lead-up up to Christmas Day.
CITC key brand marketing manager George George said focus of the parade has always been to give something back to the children and the community.
“Christmas is a time for giving, and that’s what we want to do; bring Christmas cheer to Rarotonga.
“To see our little ones smile and be happy, is what this parade is about.”
This is a time to wish the island community a Merry Christmas, says George.
Children especially won’t want to miss out on a rare opportunity to get their photo taken with visiting Disney characters.
Businesses, sporting and community clubs will be putting in a huge effort this year to bring joy and smiles to the faces of the children, who always turn out in big numbers to watch the floats.
George says the parade is a great way for sporting groups on the island to say thank you to sponsors and their fans as well as for businesses to show gratitude to their loyal customers.
Any individuals or groups of people who want to join the parade should contact George on 55898.
The Santa Parade will start tomorrow at 4.30pm followed by a special evening of late night shopping. Shops will be open across the town strip, giving workers who find it difficult to get to the shops during the week an opportunity to buy Christmas gifts and goodies.
Meanwhile, the annual Christmas in the Market celebration will be held at the Punanga Nui market this evening, beginning at 4.30.
The not-to-be-missed event is family and community-oriented and there will be fun and excitement for people of all ages, with a great line-up of entertainment.
