Tajiya Sahay is happy to be home to the sun and the beach, after two months away participating in the Miss World pageant in London.

Receiving the Miss Oceania crown just a month after being named Miss Cook Islands, Sahay says “my mind was just a huge whirlwind”.

She 26-year-old was overwhelmed at the positive support from back home in Cook Islands. “We are just so loving, and I would be reminded of that every night I checked my phone; I would be like wow, look at everyone’s messages, it was just amazing.

“It meant so much to me, and it comes from the heart, all the support really got me through the experience of the Miss World pageant.”

“So, to be back I can’t wait to say thank you to each and every one of you.”

Sahay has definitely missed the beach, being in the water and her fitness classes at Tupapa centre; and she is keen to get back into her routine.
