Court busy despite date confusion

Despite some confusion after its weekly sitting was postponed from Thursday to Friday last week, the Avarua High Court was busy dealing with a wide variety of cases, including six involving assaults on females.

A 16-year-old facing a string of burglary charges had his case adjourned and was placed on a strict curfew when he appeared in the Avarua High Court on Friday.

Tourism week was a hive of colourful activity, with Cook Islands Tourism Corporation awarding the top 30 individuals and businesses on both Rarotonga and Aitutaki for their continuous contribution to the Cook Islands tourism industry at the A1 Meitaki Awards.
