The CITC Pharmacy staff earned the prize of morning tea for the best dressed team in blue for the Autism Awareness day held earlier this month.

Autism Cook Islands members, Gloria Rarere-Tinirau (president), Simone Fe’ao (treasurer) and Tony Fe’ao presented the winners with a blue themed morning tea of deliciousness on Friday morning.

Simone said, “the wonderful kindness in donations from the communities, businesses, schools, including the Pa Enua is tremendous and very much appreciated.”

To date about $8,000 has been raised from the Autism Cook Islands Awareness day, the final count of contributions will be known at the end of this month when donations are collected from various sectors and the Pa Enua.

CITC pharmacist Shannon Saunders had personal experience with children on the autism spectrum when she instructed kids in swimming lessons in Auckland, New Zealand.

“We always make an effort to support health related projects, this is special for us as it involves a family member of one of our staff.”
