Skin specialists to visit Raro

Two skin specialists from New Zealand will be in Rarotonga and Aitutaki next month.

Dr Diana Purvis and Dr Darion Rowan are the dermatologists who will be based at the Rarotonga Hospital from April 8 to April 10. 

According to the Ministry of Health, Dr Purvis has been in the programme for more than five years.

Dr Rowan makes her first visit to Cook Islands under the Health Specialist Visiting programme and is a general dermatologist with special interests in vulvar dermatology and paediatric dermatology. 

The specialist will also be at the Aitutaki Hospital from April 11- 12.

The public is encouraged if there are any skin conditions who wish to have checked you may contact the Rarotonga Hospital or the Tupapa Community Centre and make an appointment to be screened by an outpatient doctor.

The ministry clarifies that all patients will be screened and prioritised for the specialist appointment.
