The kids were delighted at the praise and special address they received from Brown; and were excited to use their learning tools.
Principal of the school Shelley Berry is thrilled at the installation of the equipment all set up for the school to utilize.
Raising funds for the project began with selling slushies and popcorn last year; with the Parent Teacher Association and its president papa Upokokeu Anitonia’s support, and a gala event increased the money required to $20,000.
Berry commended the teachers on their enthusiasm and the many businesses who also contributed to the project.
“Our kids are digital, and whether we like it or not, technology will be part of their lives.
“Technology provides a different platform to learn with. Learning is going to be more exciting and adventurous,” she said.
Berry says the school is taking the right step to prepare the children for their future.
“Let us walk forward today into the future.”
The school has purchased eight large flat screen televisions, 30 iPads, and 24 computers. Another $10,000 of extra equipment was also donated including 10 tablets, two servers and four conference phones.
