Imanuela Akatemia school in Ngatangiia appointed their new prefects this month.

Principal Pastor Tevai (Bobby) Matapo said “the prefects are prepared for the challenge, they are a good team, and their overall conduct is excellent”.

He says he is excited for this year and looks forward to their performance as role models and young leaders.

Prefect Rachel Tangiataua, 20, delivered the speech on behalf of the prefects thanking the teachers for giving them the opportunity to become leaders and entrusting them with the responsibility. She said the students chosen are passionate about God and eager to help others.

Eighteen year old Tevai Samuel is proud to be a prefect this year, saying “Part of our duties is to go down to the bus stop and make sure the younger kids get home safely”.

The prefects will also ring the school bell for lunch breaks and lead morning devotions with songs and prayers.

Kimberly Tangirere, 17, says she especially looks out for the pre-schoolers and is committed to her role in the school.
