Hoping to get a leg up on the competition, St Joseph’s School were the first of the island’s primary school to hold their school athletics competition at the National Auditorium on Thursday.

Students represented four houses – St Mary, St Patrick, St Peter Chanel and St Peter, with St Mary coming away victorious as the winning house after the day’s competition.

The school’s top athletes will now be chosen to represent the school at the Rarotonga Primary Schools’ Prince of Wales Athletics Championship to be held later this term.

Like most schools on the island, St Joseph’s will hold weekly training sessions to help prepare their students for the inter-school competition.
