Despite the warm temperatures, all the students enjoyed the day, with a real highlight being the continual support given to each of the competitors from the supporters on the sidelines.
The day started with team events by age group, followed by the individual events.
The distances varied for each age-group but each competitor completed a swim and bike ride before finishing with a run.
Principal Mark Harris described the day as a “huge success”.
“The determination and competitiveness shown by the kids made for a fantastic display of athleticism for onlookers,” he said.
“I’m so proud of all the kids for getting out there and giving it their best.” Parent Gretchen Cooling said she was again impressed by the older students. “The older kids amaze me year after year with the way they help everyone,” she said.
“It was a long stand in the sun picking up bikes and running alongside kids who were struggling, but they were just fantastic.” Principal Harris also made mention of the valuable support offered by both staff and parents.
“A huge thanks must go to our dedicated teachers for their effort in ensuring the day went off without a hitch, and our parents for their help and ongoing support.”
