An incident of illegal fishing by an unlicensed foreign purse seine vessel has been sorted out of court, but the settlement amount will not be disclosed.

An overseas film crew is currently in the Cook Islands to produce two films on food and nutrition for the United Nations.

Kwai crew salvages dismasted yacht

Crew members from the shipping vessel Kwai – currently in Avatui port – are responsible for salvaging a yacht abandoned by a Swedish couple, which had to be rescued after their boat dismasted.

Crisis was averted at the weekend when an emergency replacement power generator arrived on Palmerston - just in the nick of time.

More than a quarter of a million dollars is likely to have been spent on determining the next government of the Cook Islands.
