It was fiery and – just as Te Maeva Nui 2019’s theme demands – International Night was passionate.

The variety of shows at Te Maeva Nui International night was appreciated by the large crowd that turned out in support of the different ethnic communities on the island.

Back from Hawaii, the Cook Islands National Arts Theatre opened the night, wowing the audience with their expertise and grace.

The Samoan local community were entertaining and dedicated their show to the late Navy Epati, Mousie Skews and Nima McBride, well-known long time residents.

The Hobsonville school kapa haka team from New Zealand sang powerfully; with the group representing Niue putting on a hearty performance that included their kids.

The evening ended with the Philippines group with their graceful dance routine.
