This is as Pa Tepaeru Teariki Upokotini Marie Ariki celebrates her 25th Coronation Jubilee.
The jubilee will bring together a number of commemorative cultural and religious activities led her Mataiapo, Ui Rangatira, leaders and friends.
The day will begin at 6am with a church service led by Rev. Tereora and Jean Marie, followed by a light breakfast at the palace before the raising of the Cook Islands flag.
Formal services including a police escort, a coronation recital, blessings and speeches will make up the rest of the morning until the formal session begins at 9am.
Pa Marie Ariki will then make an initial speech before responding to talks from Prime Minister Henry Puna, Kaumaiti Tou Ariki, New Zealand Maori Tukuairangi and Te Tua Au Te Maru from Tahiti.
The event is said to be a walk down memory lane for our Paramount chief’s guests and establishing future work and connections in the Pacific.
