Seabed minerals company to visit

Representatives from United States-based company Ocean Minerals LLC (OML), which has an option on exploring the possibility of seabed mining in Cook Islands waters, are to visit Rarotonga next month.

As cargo vessel Lady Moana heads north to Pukapuka despite rough seas and the presence of Cyclone Gita near Cook Islands waters, the island mayor Levi Walewaoa says he expressed concerns to ship owner Tapi Taio before the boat sailed on Thursday.
