Police have sought blood specimen analysis from a female driver who crashed at a drainage worksite near Manea Foods in Nikao yesterday morning.

Police received the call about the crash at about 2.47am.

The vehicle ran off the road and landed into a ditch, without damaging the pipes at the drainage worksite near Manea Foods.

Police spokesman Trevor Pitt said when a police officer arrived at the scene the driver was removed from the wreckage and was lying on the ground.

Pitt said the vehicle was extensively damaged.

A passer-by, who is a mechanic said after seeing the impact of the damage to the vehicle yesterday morning, it was lucky the driver survived.
