This weekend a suspected drunk had to pulled from his car by the Rescue Fire Service, and taken to hospital by ambulance. The vehicle flipped on its side in a collision at Nikao, near the airport at 6.20am Saturday.
Police suspect the crash is alcohol-related and have sought a blood sample from the driver.
Meanwhile in court, teenager Vainetutai Arakua admitted to a charge of driving while disqualified, after also being stopped at Tex Mart in April, and found to be over the limit.
She was caught at the wheel on the Nikao back road, where she admitted to police that she was a disqualified driver. She was then ordered to pay a fine of $100.
The police prosecutor, Senior Gergeant Fairoa Tararo said this was her third charge for driving while disqualified.
Justice of the Peace John Whitta convicted and sentenced Arakua to a further disqualification ending February 15, next year. She was also ordered to pay a fine of $150 and $50 court costs.
