Thou shalt not steal

It was Gospel Day – but at least one person hadn’t read the 10 Commandments.

Cook Islands Security officer Rangimarie William was at home enjoying a movie with her family, when someone took her $4000 bike.

“I worked so hard to earn enough money to get myself a transport to get me to work and back home,” she said.

“And then to have someone take my motorcycle which is still fairly brand new as in only a month-and-a-half old makes me feel like all that hard work was for nothing.

“For someone like myself who works for Cook Island Security that helps protect our community 24/7 and works alongside the police, I’m absolutely livid.”

William hopes to track down her bike and the culprit – and with both police and Cook Islands Security on the lookout, the thief may be in trouble.

If anyone had any leads, she asked that they contact the police.

“For people who do such crimes like what they have done to myself and others I find it shameful,” she said.

“It’s sad that they would go to such lengths to do such a thing and walk onto our property, push the bike out to the road while everyone is inside the house still awake.”

My great sympathy. I have had my own experience.
