Police senior sergeant Nga Pouao demonstrated to the rookies the practical side of how to stop a vehicle, indicate for it to pull to the side and talk to the driver.
“While (the recruits) are nervous, they know that they must also be confident. So far I’m happy with their performance, as they look to have the confidence to do traffic control,” Pouao said.
The recruits are in their eighth week of training, with three weeks left until graduation. During that time, they will learn self-defence and revise the theory side of their training.
