It is alleged the burglars entered and trashed the building on Saturday night before stealing property belonging to a staff member and leaving.
Police say forensic staff have conducted a scene examination of the premises and will be speaking to people they believed are involved, in the near future. However, information leading to the identification of those responsible is still being sought, they say.
Staff member Stephanie Scott Puiri took to Facebook to vent her frustration at the intruders.
“They poured paint over some of the interior walls again, and slit open the bean bags again.
“Nothing of value was stolen, just another huge mess for me to clean up. Needless to say, I have just been cutting lengths of timber and will nail it across the last two sets of windows that don’t have mesh.
“This place is going to look like a jail not a preschool.”
Police say the burglary was a setback as they were called to very few such incidents over the festive period.
