Convicted child sex offender Andrew Marsters was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment by Justice Potter when he appeared in the Cook Islands High Court on Saturday morning.

Last Monday, a jury found the 49-year-old guilty on 10 out of the 13 charges he was facing relating to child sex offences.

The incidents took place on Palmerston Island between the years of 1998 to 2017, where Marsters was a manager in the Ministry of Infrastructure Division.

He had previously come to the attention of police regarding similar charges, but was never convicted.
