Rugby and league enthusiasts have been walking around star struck this week as Kiwi league and union sports stars swapped their muddy boots for sandy jandals.

The kiwi sportsmen are on the island to celebrate the wedding of ex-All Black Sione Lauaki and new wife Stephanie Lauaki. at an intimate beach ceremony on Wednesday at the Crown Beach Resort and Spa.

The wedding included the likes of current All Blacks Liam Messam, Jerome Kaino, Sam Whitelock, hard running Kiwi’s and NZ Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei and Lauaki’s brother Epalahame, also a former NZ Warrior and Kiwi test player.

Sione Lauaki made his All Blacks test debut in the teams 91-0 demolition of Fiji in 2005 and went on to play 17 tests for his country.

The Tongan-born flanker/ number eight known as ‘Wax’ to his team mates last played for French football club Aviron Bayonnais in 2012 .

The athletes reportedly did as the islanders do and got their hands dirty preparing a pig to go on the spit for the wedding feast.

A source close to the family said the ceremony was short, sweet and absolutely beautiful.
