SPREP gets new executive officer

Cook Islands woman Audrey Brown-Pereira has been appointed Executive Officer at the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP).

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Sociology from Auckland University, New Zealand.

Brown-Pereira has been working in various positions in the Cook Islands, New Zealand and Samoa including placements in the Cook Islands Foreign Affairs as International Affairs Officer, Cook Island’s First Secretary to the Cook Island's High Commission in New Zealand, Executive and Administration Officer for the National University of Samoa, Project Management and Client Relations with KVA Consult in Samoa and recently as a freelancer.

She is no stranger to SPREP, having worked as a short-term consultant for the Communications and Outreach Team in 2013 for about six months.

The Executive Officer will provide and coordinate technical support and assistance to the office of the executive and will be the SPREP focal point for the upcoming independent corporate review of SPREP and the mid-term review of the Strategic Plan.
