Punters were treated to good beer, good food and good old fashioned island grooves at the much loved Matutu Brewery Okotopafest on Saturday afternoon.

More than 150 beer lovers took over the grounds of LBV in Muri to enjoy the best of Prime Foods’ local kaikai and beverages on the Rock.

The family friendly event also saw a lollie scramble, bouncy castle and face painting on offer to keep the little ones happy.

The highlight of the day was the range of Matutu’s spectacular boutique beers, including the award-winning Maeva Ale which picked up a bronze medal at the recent New Zealand Beer Awards.

Mango and passion fruit infused beers were also a major hit at the event.

And Trigger Fish, Island Groove and Kahiki provided top-notch island entertainment which perfectly matched the Matutu brews.

By the end of the evening most punters were up dancing to Kahiki, enjoying a great start to the long weekend.
