Golden oldies and local expatriates got the 2015 Dancer of the Year series off to a colourful and passionate start on Friday night, with dancers wowing an appreciative crowd with their expertise.

The dance series will continue this Thursday with the Junior and Intermediate Dancer of the Year competition.

The junior dance section has been sponsored by the team at Polynesian Car and Bike Hire, while the good guys at the Motor Centre have come on board as the main sponsor for the intermediate dance category.

Featuring youthful grace and energy on stage, the show will start at 7.30pm at the National Auditorium, with tickets selling at $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Food stalls will be on hand to feed the family and the show is guaranteed to have you swaying in your seat and brimming with national pride.

The Senior Dancer of the Year, sponsored this year by T&M Heather, will be held next Thursday in what should be a powerful showcase of top Cook Islands dance culture.
